In-Office Procedures

Crown OB/Gyn provides these procedures in our offices at all four locations:

  • Placement of long-term contraceptive devices (IUDs and Nexplanon)

  • Looking into the uterus with a camera (hysteroscopy), and removing polyps (polypectomy) or fibroids (myomectomy)

  • Loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) for abnormal cervical cells

  • Manual vacuum aspiration (procedure to remove retained tissue after a miscarriage or delivery)

  • Incision and drainage of vulvar and perineal abscess and cysts, including Bartholin cysts

  • Biopsy and sometimes also removal of precancerous or cancerous lesions of the vulva

For in-office procedures, we often administer oral pain and anti-anxiety medications in addition to a local block at the area of the procedure. There are a variety of options we can use based on the preferences of the patient and provider.
